The Anti-Cheat Operations Intern is a member of EA Security's Secure Platform Engineering & Anti-Cheat Response (SPEAR) team and will report to the manager of the Gameplay Integrity Operations team.
As an Operations Intern, your primary job will involve monitoring the environment of our games using our internal anti-cheat solution. Your work will help ensure fair and fun experiences for EA's players across all of EA's games.
In addition to contributing to daily anti-cheat operations, you'll perform investigations into suspected cheating activity to confirm or refute reports and improve the quality of our detections. You’ll deep dive into data provided by a variety of tools, and you’ll gather and review threat intelligence supporting our anti-cheat and UGX (user-generated experiences & modding) protection pipelines.
Responsibilities
Monitor anti-cheat operations dashboards;
Investigate suspected cheating activity;
Gather threat intelligence to support efforts for anti-cheat and UGX (user-generated content and modding);
Escalate interesting activity to more senior staff for additional review;
Clearly communicate task progress and blockers to the team;
Qualifications
Knowledge of the cheating problem in the gaming industry (PC cheats, modding, external cheats, internal cheats, wall hacks, aimbots, etc.);
Basic knowledge of operating system fundamentals (processes, threads, virtual memory, etc.);
The ability to safely handle potentially malicious software;
You must be available for a full-time paid internship in the summer of 2026.
At this time, we are considering Undergrad students who will be enrolled in an accredited degree program in the summer of 2026, slated to graduate no earlier than December 2026. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis during the 12-week internship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
