Your work with us

Take the next steps in your career as an Associate Technical Director! You will have responsibility for our internal Build and Release team and will be the technical leader of our custom software installation tool (used across nearly all EA game studios) which is used to deploy pre-configured software development environments tailored for games.

You will report to the Principal Technical Director overseeing these groups. Your charter is to take a leadership role managing both teams and you will be accountable for both the technology strategy and the engineers working on the products.

  • You're willing to grow your career by taking on two small teams and charting out their future paths to success.

  • You enjoy leading a team of Software Engineers, creating technical strategies, leading architecture / design, and prioritizing the requests that come from your customers

Important Responsibilities

  • Team Management: You will lead two small teams of Individual Contributors in Build and Release and application development, promoting an atmosphere of innovation and collaboration.

  • Partnerships: Collaborate with both Game and Technical team members within Creative Technologies and our customers (game teams) to define goals and milestones.

  • Technical Decision-making: Use your expertise to arbitrate technical decisions for the engineering team, and articulate / define the WHAT, HOW, and (in partnership with Product Management) WHY for our technology roadmaps.

  • Mentorship: Provide technical mentorship and guidance to the team, promoting an environment of learning and improvement.

  • Quality Review: Review completed engineering deliverables before release, ensuring that they meet our standards of quality and reliability.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential technical risks and manage them, implementing mitigation strategies.

  • Broad Technical Understanding: Develop an understanding of EA's game technologies, engines, and strategies, ensuring that our development is aligned with EA's broader goals.

Qualifications

  • Experience working on small to medium-scale Build and Release pipelines

  • A comprehensive understanding of the CI / CD space as well as desktop application in C#.

  • 5+ years as a Software Developer, with increasing levels of responsibility.

  • Proficiency in risk management, able to identify potential issues and create mitigation strategies.

  • Comfortable working in a remote or hybrid environment.

  • Willing to travel to meet with team members and partners in person.

  • Bachelor's degree in one of Computer Science (or related technical field) or equivalent practical experience.

Management skills required:

  • 3+ years of experience as a People Manager.

  • Instil a culture that prioritises game teams as valued customers, ensuring their needs are met at the forefront of product delivery and the decision-making process.

  • Mentor, coach, and aid in the development of team members.

  • Set clear goals, and deliver them on time / at quality.

  • Negotiate with partners, vendors, and customers (game teams / game creators.)
