We are a distributed and diverse group that encourages team members to bring their unique perspectives and expertise to work every day.

We are looking for a Development Director with experience leading large-scale technical projects to conduct operational execution and strategy for a dynamic technical team. Responsibilities:

  • You will trailblaze fundamental operational strategy for the Tiburon Systems team throughout all projects and cross-project initiatives, in partnership with team leadership, in areas including establishing development framework, dependency and risk management, capacity planning, and resource management, to deliver high-quality results on time and on budget.

  • You will architect the presence of the Systems team across the studio, forging relationships with technical leads, partner groups, and business leaders, coordinating requirements, clarifying roles and accountability, defining strategy to meet milestones, formulating tech gate documentation and test for completion (TFC) structure, communicating project status updates, presenting in gates, and meeting business goals.

  • You will orchestrate skills assessments, training/mentorship opportunities, relative performance discussions, hiring/onboarding processes, and team building activities to promote team member retention and success and foster an engaging, fulfilling, and fun work environment, providing direct people management to up to eight software engineers across the team.

  • You will manage team sprint planning, retrospectives, project schedules (roadmaps), backlogs, and 1-n lists and enforce best practices for task/bug filing (including templates and technical design document (TDD) usage), assignment, tracking (including Alpha support), and status update compliance.

  • You will institute efficiencies that save costs and increase stability, promoting project indicators that track project quality, delivery, and predictability.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of technical project management or team leadership experience.

  • Experience managing a large project with project management principles and practices.

  • You can work on complex problems that require in-depth analysis and scenario planning.
