Opportunity

We are looking for an influential Senior Director to lead the exploration and development of new opportunities within the evolving landscape of sports entertainment. You will be part of a newly established group which focuses on creating groundbreaking experiences that resonate with future sports fans.  Our M.O. is to move fast, beyond strategic outlines and into software - resulting in feedback directly from fans as we work toward product market fit.

Reporting to the VP of Ventures Publishing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership in Innovation and Future-Focused Product Development:

    • Prepare the path for new products and experiences that engage future sports fans.

    • Lead the creation of product/experience solutions that use AI, LLMs, and the latest technologies to deliver transformative fan experiences.

    • Build foundational conditions for success (e.g., internal positioning, collaboration and shared consciousness ) tailored to the evolving needs of the EA SPORTS audience.

    • Build marketing roadmaps and strategies that anticipate shifts in sports and fan engagement.

    • You will revel in execution, and create vs direct others to do so.  We value speed to software, market and fan benefit.

  • Team and Stakeholder Leadership:

    • You will lead and inspire a versatile team, promoting expertise in the latest technologies and sports entertainment trends.

    • Partner with stakeholders on near term goals and create cohesive execution plans.

    • Represent the Ventures Group in senior leadership discussions, encouraging belief in the vision for the future of sports entertainment.

  • Data-Driven Innovation:

    • You will use knowledge of sports data, trends, and fan behavior, and advanced analytics to identify opportunities and craft strategies that resonate with the sports fan of tomorrow.

    • Translate complex data sets into plans, ensuring that innovation is grounded in fan needs and behaviors.

Qualifications

  • You will have experience leading innovation and growth initiatives in gaming, sports, or entertainment.

  • Experience working at Director level in brand management, product development, or innovation-focused roles.

  • Expertise in emerging technologies, including AI, Large Language Models, and next-generation engagement platforms.

  • You have a passion for sports, an understanding of sports data, licensing and content.

  • The ability to develop insight-driven, fan-centric strategies.

  • Experience working with both qualitative and quantitative data.

  • Experience managing teams in an innovation-focused environment.

  • Global mindset with experience developing products and strategies for diverse markets.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). BASE SALARY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
    • $193,600 - $271,700 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
