The Infrastructure and Platform Services team (IPS) is the backbone of EA's global gaming ecosystem, delivering the technology that powers EA's live games and player experiences. IPS provides a deep portfolio of digital platform gaming services and production infrastructure to EA's game studios. From scalable cloud solutions to AI-driven gameplay services, IPS ensures that EA's games are available anytime, anywhere for millions of players worldwide.
As a Senior Experience Designer, you will report to a Group Design Manager, and create meaningful and cohesive experiences through an understanding of our Game Developers and showcase creative design execution for EADP's products and services. You will work with Product, Program, and Engineering teams to build the next generation of our Developer Journey by bringing the Game Developer and Operator to the forefront in everything we do. You are an all-around designer with both interaction and visual design skills. You excel in an environment that values independence coupled with collaboration. You have a passion for empathizing with the needs and behaviors of our Game Developers/Operators and our Studio publishing partners, and how to solve for them through the design of our Developer Platform. (This is an onsite position based in Vancouver, Canada).
Responsibilities:
Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences
Plan and conduct user testing and consolidate feedback into actionable themes
Collaborate with the Design team, Product Managers, and developers to set priorities and find optimal design solutions to improve usability
Work with Program Managers to plan delivery of artifacts and deliverables
Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions
Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate designs
Consistently champion usability and accessibility
Leverage and extend the use of established UX techniques and deliverables
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in product or service design
A strong portfolio with examples of finished UX/UI work and insight into your development process
Experience designing Developer-first SaaS / B2B products
Experience in, or understanding of, games, game development, and game tooling like Unity, Unreal, or other tools
Evolving knowledge of usability principles and techniques, interaction design, and design patterns
Passionate about resolving user pain points through great design
Solid knowledge of design and prototyping tools like Figma, Invision or others
Knowledge of inclusive design principles and experience designing for usability and accessibility
Understanding of the importance of providing and soliciting feedback in an inclusive and respectful manner
A natural, deep curiosity that inspires you to learn, investigate and always ask why
Ability to work autonomously and think proactively
Experience working on enterprise products or developer experiences that involved API and/or command line interface design
Passion or interest in solving for the developer/game engineer persona
- British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
- $119,600 - $167,300 CAD
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
