The ATOM team is responsible for building the future of AI for games testing. As an Applied Machine Learning Scientist for ATOM, reporting to the Director of AI for Quality Verification Services (QVS), you will fulfill high-impact applied research goals and help execute a vision that brings EA’s games to life. Your mission is to discover and evaluate AI methods that increase the velocity and quality of next generation interactive experiences. Our team impacts every title in EA’s portfolio, and you will be potentially working with all types of AI technology to improve our titles.
Responsibilities
Provide AI solutions to complex problems that will drive the future of game testing such as: autonomous play-testing agents, test-case generation, anomaly/bug detection and game state space quantification
Be adaptive – all AI technologies potentially play a role in these solutions, including RL/IL, computer vision, NLP, foundation models etc.
Translate ATOM’s technology roadmap into experiments, milestones, and real technology solutions, with support from the Lead Scientist and Director of AI
Regularly spend time in the literature and attend conferences (NeurIPS, CVPR etc.) to stay current with rapidly advancing AI tech
Collaborate with game devs, tech leads, QA analysts and product managers to scope problems and understand use cases
Qualifications
PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of ML experience spanning across the entire ML lifecycle (frame, gather/curate data, model, evaluate, deploy, observe)
Fluent in Python and PyTorch
Experience training models at scale (multi-GPU or distributed), Strong understanding of ML fundamentals, MLOps, and best practices
Clear written and verbal communication; ability to partner across QA, tools, and game teams to deliver impact
- British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
- $165,900 - $238,100 CAD
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees.
