As a Senior Technical Designer, you will mentor other designers, helping them solve problems and develop their skills while fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Responsibilities:
- Work with designers, engineers and other creatives to develop the vision and innovate on compelling gameplay systems.
- Implement and drive gameplay systems and/or modes from concept to ship quality.
- Align and collaborate with multiple disciplines and communicate the vision of gameplay features.
- Ensure a high-quality release by bug fixing, balancing, and creating a fun gameplay experience.
- Pitch ideas, provide feedback and rapid iteration with the team to find the fun and make Apex the best it can be!
Requirements:
- Experience with scripting languages (such as Lua, Python, Javascript, and/or other scripting languages).
- Worked on multiple shipped titles as a Technical Designer
- Passion for crafting gameplay systems, mechanics and gamemodes.
- Familiarity with the Battle Royale genre.
- Expertise in comprehending the game design process, specifically with game mechanics and design theory.
Nice to have:
- Experience with content-driven game engines (Unreal, Frostbite, Unity, GtkRadiant).
- Ability to read and understand C++
- Experience developing and in a multiplayer live service environment.
- California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento)
- $122,400 - $176,300 USD
In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees.
