As a Voice Over Audio Designer, you'll play a crucial role in driving our projects from their inception, utilizing your expertise in sound design and implementation, specifically concerning voiceovers for our game. Your unique blend of technical acumen, creativity, and a deep-seated passion for audio will converge to breathe life into a diverse range of characters and experiences.

Your responsibilities will be centered or split between sound design and dialogue. You will collaborate closely with both the Audio, Narrative and Design teams, coordinating all dialogue requirements, editing, implementing, and managing VO assets.

When not focusing on dialogue, your role will expand to cater to the general needs of sound design, showcasing you as an audio professional. You will report directly to the Director of Audio and is onsite or remote. Your contributions will shape the auditory landscape of our game, creating an immersive and engaging experience for our players.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be a generalist of sound design and implementation needs at times when dialogue support is not a priority or needed.
  • You will create, record when needed, edit, master, prototype VO and sound effects
  • Collaborate with Narrative, Design, Presentations, and Audio discipline to identify priorities and dialogue needs.
  • Supporting VO data and management of dialogue in the tools that come from stakeholder disciplines.
  • Understand current dialogue systems and conceptualize the design of in-game VO systems (with Technical audio designer and Director of Audio)
  • Prepare references material and technical requirements for recording sessions
  • Ensure mastered VO meets project specifications
  • Experiment with processing recipes for characters in the game
  • Work with designers to create character script templates
  • Integrate VO in Audiokinetic Wwise
  • Integrate VO in Unreal Engine
  • Capture and edit gameplay videos showcasing VO for reviews
  • Prepare LOC kits to send to regions for Localization
  • Support the Ai voice technology with data, providing and with focus on feedback for quality, iterations, co-dev of features, evaluations with several stakeholders.

 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience as a VO Designer
  • Excellent skills in communication and very strong beliefs in teamwork, well as communicate concepts effectively.
  • Expertise with audio editing in a Digital Audio Workstation (i.e. Nuendo, Reaper)
  • Able to evaluate mastered VO delivered by vendors against specifications and creative bar.
  • Deep understanding of VO pipelines, with the ability to carry out tasks both collaboratively.
  • Expertise with voice over processing tools and techniques using creative sound design tools and techniques (i.e. - Waves, Native Instruments, iZotope)
  • Experience recording voice over sessions and running sessions to choose takes with directors and writers.
  • Deep understanding of pacing and mixing of Voice Over content in games.
  • Experience with technical implementation and Wwise audio middleware.
  • Experience with technical implementation and Unreal.
  • Familiar with Audio DAWS or tools with audio plugins that help edit and sound design.

If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). BASE SALARY RANGES

  • California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento)
    • $103,200 - $145,600 USD
  • Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs)
    • $111,800 - $151,800 USD
  • Jersey City, NJ
    • $117,300 - $145,600 USD
  • New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo)
    • $92,600 - $145,600 USD
  • Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane)
    • $92,600 - $135,600 USD

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
