EA SPORTS is one of the most iconic brands in entertainment – connecting hundreds of millions around the world to the sports they love through a portfolio of industry-leading video games.

Our Advanced Technology Group is part of the EA SPORTS Technology organization, focusing on identifying and creating new, scalable technologies for game teams.  We are looking for close collaboration with game teams, central art teams, and the Frostbite engine team; though the technologies developed can apply to many different engines, environments, and hardware platforms.  You will work on our strategic, multi-year projects focused on improved creation pipelines and runtime functionality, both users facing and internal, for all EA SPORTS titles.

You will help shape the technology, tools and workflows to support long-term strategic projects across all EA Sports franchises.  You will be a leader and a technology champion, advancing character creation, realistic visuals and user-generated experiences.  You will collaborate with partner teams to propose, plan and implement core technologies shaping the future of EA Sports.

You will report to the Director of Sports Tech - Advanced Technology Group and as a people manager, you will help shape people's careers and mentor the team in growing and reaching their full potential.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Propose strategy for shared technology to support advancing character creation, realistic visuals and user-generated experiences.
  • Transform technology strategy into execution plans, in collaboration with Frostbite game engine teams and EA Sports game teams.
  • Pull requirements and promote technology initiatives through stakeholder engagement.
  • Present to leadership on product vision and strategy.
  • Guide the team’s engineering and architectural best practices, in partnership with the Technical Lead.

Your Qualifications:

We value diverse skills, experiences, and perspectives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply, even if they do not meet every requirement.

  • 7+ years of experience in gaming technology
  • Technical leadership and/or mentoring experience
  • Experience leading a team of 5+ engineers.
  • C++, architectural, and software engineering skills.
  • Experience with the software design/architecture process
  • Demonstrated ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Capability to translate a wide array of user requirements into a product plan for an engineering team.
  • Experience working with technical and creative partners.
