EA SPORTS Madden NFL is the best-selling sports property in U.S. Video game history. Madden NFL is an immersive, simulation-based, authentic NFL interactive experience, empowering fans to play out their NFL fantasy of winning the Super Bowl (and much more). Madden NFL is developed at EA's Tiburon Studio in Oralndo, FL, and Madrid, Spain by a team that prides itself on innovation and creative collaboration. We are looking for talent with a passion for sports to create experiences that connect with millions of football fans around the world to grow the love of the sport. We’re looking for a Development Manager who will help ensure a smooth execution of projects, presentations, and events. You will be an important contributor to the operations team responsible for delivering features that ignite the emotion of sports through industry-leading sports video games. You will report to a Development Director that supports the Madden NFL product. Partnering with Producers and Directors, your role is to ensure the mode team’s work is completed on time, within budget, and up to quality standards. 

Responsibilities:
  • You will manage a development team which generally consists of Software Engineers, Artists, and Designers.
  • You will work with feature development teams to lock down requirements and specifications.
  • You will help develop and maintain project roadmaps, scope and capacity plans, and project task tracking.
  • You will identify and address potential project risks.
  • You will need to anticipate bottlenecks, provide management escalation, project prioritization, make tradeoffs, balance the needs versus technical constraints, and promote initial partner deployments.
  • You will guide communication between artists, engineers, project managers, and other partners, ensuring communication and agreement on project goals and priorities.
  • You will contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes and best practices within the department.
  • You will focus on the immediate team and identify team issues and suggest solutions related to execution goals.
  • You will ensure each project setup meets the specifications with Studio.
  • You will provide regular status reporting and capacity plan updates.
  • You will track and implement project improvement plans to promote team efficiency.
  • You will mentor individual contributors within the project team.
  • You will ensure all have professional development plans and conduct regular one-on-ones.
  • You will organize and facilitate important team events, including meetings, workshops, presentations, and other team activities.

Role Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in project coordination or project management methodologies including Waterfall and Agile in a technology or art environment.
  • 2+ years of experience in people management
  • Excellent knowledge of production life cycle, processes, and project planning.
  • Experience in a Scrum / Agile software development environment.
  • Expertise in tools and software, such as JIRA, Confluence and Google Suite.
  • Experience managing outsourcing teams is a plus.
  • Experience in mediation and conflict resolution.
