To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to key-frame characters to a very high standard. You will work closely with the Cinematics Team to help bring quality animated performances to the game.



Your Responsibilities

* Develop and collaborate new concepts to functional prototypes alongside the guidance of Production, Animation, Cinematic and Software Engineer teams.

* Assemble Motion Capture character performances together with all the assets necessary to realize the cinematics

* Work with Technical Artist’s/Designer’s and Engineers to manage and solve any technical animation problems that arise with both 1st and 3rd party tools and software

*Provide feedback and collaborate on R&D projects

* Provide feedback to other animators on the team (both internally and externally) - where necessary

* Polish key frame face / body animation for Cinematic scenes and test in game engine.



Your Qualifications

* Experienced CG character animator required.

* Minimum 5 years work experience.

* Must possess excellent character animation skills. 

* Experience leading a small team

* Experience working with advanced facial animation rigs.

* Must have experience animating cameras and a good understanding of cinematic language.

* Experience creating the various stages needed to take animations from initial previz and blocking, all the way through to fully realized, highly polished sequences.

* Must have strong working knowledge of a 3D animation package (Maya, XSI etc.)

* Familiarity with Autodesk’s Motionbuilder preferred but not essential.

* Must have ability to work under tight deadlines.

* Experience working in gaming preferred but not essential.

* Experience working with, and providing feedback to both artists and technical artists/animators



Performance Competencies:

* Strong technical communication and collaboration skills.

* A passion for Sports/Soccer is an asset.

* Motivated to learn how to use new or proprietary software

* Be adaptable to different workflow methods

* Able to communicate well with other disciplines

* Candidate must be meticulous, detail oriented, driven, and need very little supervision to put out high quality work

* Candidate must have a strong work ethic and work well with a team

* Be positive and approachable


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). BASE SALARY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
    • $89,300 - $123,000 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
