About Us: Our Quality Verification and Standards (QVS) team is an important part of our development process, delivering applicable insights that support our game teams to optimize software performance and improve gameplay.


You will work onsite from Bogotá, Colombia (Salitre area).


The Associate Quality Designer (AQD) will join us on the SONAR team in a hybrid work schedule consisting of 5 onsite days weekly. SONAR is a centralized organization in EA focused on Production services. Our mission is to Safeguard the in-game player experience by validating the transition from Integration to Production and continuing into Live Service. As an AQD, you will be an important part of our development process and contribute to the quality of our games in a meaningful way. You will demonstrate a sound technical platform and game knowledge, have a quality-focused mindset and efficient partnership. The AQD will also be accountable for planning and managing test coverage on client and server releases, reporting on results, and confirming the success of a release. As an AQD you will be reporting directly to the Development Manager assigned to your specific Projects.

Job Summary:

The Associate Quality Designer (AQD) will be an important part of our development process and contribute to the quality of our games. You will demonstrate sound technical platform and game knowledge, have a quality mindset partner relationship. The AQD will also be accountable for planning and managing test coverage on client and server releases, reporting on results, and confirming the success of a release.

Your Responsibilities

Quality Strategy and Test Planning

  • Establish custom Live strategies on your project.

  • Work with product owners to identify risks and plan testing for live releases.

  • Build partnerships across geographically distributed teams.

  • Design test plans, including scheduling, reporting, and execution.

Quality and Data Analysis

  • Compile data from multiple sources into cohesive summaries to communicate status and risk

  • Implement automation opportunities across feature sets and workflows.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Communicate status and risk through cohesive summaries

  • Work with other Sonar locations to guide the test execution teams

  • Be the communication bridge between several partner teams

  • Provide technical, quantitative, and qualitative feedback

  • Represent the Live QV perspective in meetings.

Mentorship and Team Support

  • Lead improvements and knowledge sharing across teams

  • Promote professional growth within the SONAR Live QV team

  • Mentor and support team members in implementing quality strategies

Our Requirements

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in software development, quality assurance, or game design

  • Familiarity with automated testing and common automation tool sets

  • Experience with defect and task tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail)

  • Experience building continuous improvement projects and completing from start to finish.

  • Can create Test Strategies anchored in Defect prevention, containment, and early QA involvement.

  • Provide applicable recommendations to enhance player satisfaction.

  • Experience incorporating telemetry, data analytics, or AI/ML capabilities to enhance test insight and improvement

  • Optional - Backend systems and server hosting infrastructure experience
