Location: Austin, TX
Team: Game Developer Experience
Reports to: Senior Director, Product Management

Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced, technically grounded, and strategically minded Director of Product Management (or Principal Product Manager) to drive product vision, execution, and impact across a portfolio of platform capabilities and tools. You will be responsible for defining and delivering products that enable developers to build, launch, and operate world-class games with greater efficiency, quality, and speed.

This is a critical leadership role that demands a blend of technical fluency, strategic thinking, and operational excellence. You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, design, operations, and game teams, and partner closely with technical and executive leaders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Define a compelling vision and roadmap for the product(s) that aligns with organizational goals and customer needs.

  • Product Execution: Translate vision into clear, actionable requirements, documentation, and user stories; oversee development and ensure timely delivery.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, design, DevOps, QA, and game development teams to align on goals, define priorities, and deliver high-quality features.

  • Data-Driven Decisions: Leverage data to inform roadmap decisions, measure feature success, identify performance bottlenecks, and validate user impact.

  • Ecosystem Thinking: Build interoperable features within a broader platform, with an emphasis on cloud-native capabilities such as auto-scaling, self-healing, and redundancy.

  • Customer Advocacy: Engage with internal users to understand pain points and ensure the product delivers tangible improvements to workflows and outcomes.

  • Communication: Present product vision and roadmap to executive and senior technical audiences; build alignment across multiple disciplines and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of product management experience, including leadership roles across multiple product lines.

  • Strong technical background through education or hands-on work experience.

  • Proven success managing complex roadmaps across ecosystems or platforms.

  • Ability to assess technical complexity and design staged rollout strategies for feature validation and risk mitigation.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and writing clear, detailed user stories and feature specs.

  • Skilled at creating and interpreting dashboards to track KPIs, performance, adoption, and feature impact.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including executive presentations and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

  • Experience building features that leverage modern cloud architectures and DevOps/LiveOps practices.

Nice to Have

  • Experience hiring, mentoring, and career-managing product managers.

  • Familiarity with game development processes, pipelines, and industry trends.

  • Background in fast-paced, startup environments with lean, cross-functional teams.

  • Track record of delivering innovative features, especially in AI/ML, with measurable impact.

  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and workflow optimization.

  • Financial literacy, including managing budgets and creating business cases for features and platform investments.

  • Passion for building products that improve developer productivity and enable creative excellence.

Why Join Us

  • Work at the intersection of creativity and technology, enabling the future of game creation.

  • Help shape foundational tools used by hundreds of developers across global studios.

  • Be part of a culture that values innovation, inclusion, and continuous learning.
