The Motive Battlefield team is looking for an experienced delivery and people manager, who is passionate about games and developing top-tier teams. The Director of Production holds it all together with a focus on people, process, and planning, and reports to the Senior Director of Production. We are considering on-site and hybrid working options to Motive Studio located in Montreal.

You will play an important part in creating an environment that enables our experienced artists, designers, and engineers to grow. You will improve our team, development, and business processes to ensure the smooth running of deliveries while building plans that deliver successful results. As part of this, managing dependencies, risks, and partners through concise messaging will be core to the role.

You will also create a new Gameplay experience for Battlefield. This includes supporting teams that are experimenting with next-generation AI behaviors, procedural systems, and player vs. environment gameplay loops that blend replayability, immersion, and challenge for diverse player audiences.

Requirements

Project & Process Management

  • Lead Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, retros, backlog refinement) and improve Agile practices within team(s).
  • Plan and manage deliveries from the team, including risks, dependencies, and critical paths.
  • Maintain team scope and capacity according to the backlog and team velocity.
  • Coordinate work with multiple internal and external teams, across multiple locations, time zones, and cultures.
  • Identify tech or tools that would benefit your team, increasing productivity and advocating for their adoption (e.g., Jira plugins).
  • Partner with design and engineering leadership to integrate AI-driven features (e.g., adaptive enemy AI, procedural PvE encounters) into milestone planning and delivery.

People & Team Management

  • Develop team(s) towards productivity.
  • Manage people directly; able to manage personnel conflicts; comfortable with delivering candid feedback to individuals and aligning career goals with daily work.
  • Support multidiscipline collaboration ensuring artists, engineers, and designers work cohesively on shared goals.

Change Management

  • Guide and facilitate change management plans within the team, ensuring adoption and acceptance of new processes.
  • Champion the cultural and production shifts required to deliver at scale.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience as a scrum/project manager of technical deliveries and people management.
  • Experience leading at-quality deliveries from Agile development team(s), working in JIRA.
  • Change leader, comfortable with ambiguity and able to succeed in a high-velocity, team-oriented setting.
  • Experienced in project planning, capacity planning, dependency and risk management including mitigation techniques.
  • People management and career development skills, helping individuals grow through coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback.
  • Focused on building trusting relationships, and experienced in building high-performing software development teams.
  • Focused on listening to understand and aligns well with important partners.
  • Passionate about games especially in large-scale multiplayer titles.
