Battlefield is a storied franchise renowned for uncompromising combat gameplay and all-out warfare, for over two decades. 100 million players and 5 billion hours played later, Battlefield Studios is defining the future of the first-person shooter with the biggest launch in franchise history with Battlefield 6, and a new era beginning with Battlefield REDSEC.

United under the banner of Battlefield Studios, 4 world-class teams across Criterion, DICE, Motive, and Ripple Effect have come together to focus on the future of the franchise, a connected Battlefield universe filled with immersive experiences built on our unique DNA.

At Ripple Effect, we are a studio where you can do the best work of your career. Above all, we’re driven by quality - in the games we create, and in the studio we’ve built.

Our values: We believe every day our work should be better than it was the day before. We iterate, innovate, and support our devs as they grow in their crafts and push one another toward mastery. We believe in operating with integrity, and creating an inclusive team where everyone’s ideas are heard.

With studios located in Los Angeles and Vancouver, Ripple Effect has been dedicated to the Battlefield franchise since our founding as DICE LA in 2013.

We’re all-in on the future and our most ambitious Battlefield yet. Want to be part of something special? Read on.

The Role: We are looking for an experienced Production Director who is passionate about both process and gaming, to provide daily production leadership to the Live Ops & Engagement Team. You will manage project, feature and resource planning, balance scope with capacity, track progress, implement and improve processes, mentor people, and manage risks, contingencies, and mitigations. You are a master of development pipelines. You understand the iterative nature of creative processes and how to empower them. You are a force multiplier for the team.

You will report to the Production Line Director. We are considering on-site and hybrid working options.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage cross-functional team(s) which consist of Software Engineers, Designers, Specialists in UX/UI, and Audio.

  • Lead Live Service teams, simultaneously working on multiple releases.

  • Oversee your teams' roadmap across all development stages: pre-pro, production, launch, and live service.

  • Implement Scope and Capacity management across internal and external teams.

  • Coordinate your teams' discipline leaders to breakdown deliverables, estimate tasks, plan sprints, and run sprint rituals like standup and retrospectives.

  • Establish engagement processes to ensure the teams' define all workflows, document processes, and train staff in expectations.

  • Align all involved teams towards the outlined goals, while guiding your team to achieve milestones on time and at quality.

  • Communicate the project status with all levels of leadership, including risks, contingencies, and mitigation plans.

  • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide management escalation, project prioritization, and balance needs versus technical constraints.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.

  • Mentor more junior production people.

  • Maintain an inclusive environment that encourages creativity and collaboration.

What We Are Looking For:

  • 8+ years working as a project, program or production manager in technology, games, or equivalent field.

  • Experience working in AAA Live Service game development including managing multiple releases simultaneously on a live product, with cross-functional teams.

  • Familiarity with managing a team to deliver on time and at quality, with an emphasis on team health.

  • Previous practice with delivering while simultaneously empowering team leads and team members to own parts of the planning process.

  • Understanding of project management frameworks such as Agile or Waterfall and tools such as Jira, Shotgrid, Perforce, Airtable, or similar.

  • Expertise in knowing the status of your project and visualizing that status for any audience.

  • Prior experience tailoring communication to all levels of an organization.

  • Proficiency in conflict resolution and coaching other production people.
