We are looking for a Lead 2D Artist - ExDev to oversee the quality and artistic consistency of externally developed 2D cosmetics. Think Player Cards, Vehicle & Weapon decals, and dog tags, items our players use to personalize their appearance on the battlefield. You will report to our Line Director, Art. We are considering on-site and hybrid working options within the Vancouver area to apply.
What you will do:
- You will distill seasonal theming creative into detailed asset briefs to guide the creation of 2D cosmetics.
- You will support external artists by teaching and troubleshooting assets through written feedback and direct conversation, helping them reach quality.
- While your main focus is on supporting external partners, you will also spend some of your time creating assets to keep your skills and workflow knowledge sharp.
- Individual ownership and responsibility is important to us. You will own your own part of the backlog, planning and delegating tasks to your external collaborators.
- As a Lead, you will also help evolve workflows and processes for external development of 2D assets & iconography while maintaining documentation about best practices.
The skills you will need:
- 3+ years of experience working on a live service game team, collaborating in some capacity with external partners.
- Experience with color theory, typography, layout, user flow, and motion design principles.
- Mastery of static asset creation tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
- Familiarity with UI/UX prototyping tools such as FIGMA, Adobe XD, Sketch or InVision.
- A history of supporting others, prioritizing nurturing talent in others instead of solving the issue for them.
- Experience managing a backlog, working with estimates and delegating tasks to others.
- Experience managing outsource or co-dev relationships
- Understand, match, and communicate art styles.
