We are looking for an experienced, motivated Development Director to join the Skate team, with a focus on shipping content.
You will report to the Lead Development Director for Seasonal Content and play a key role in delivering ongoing Seasonal Content for our live service game.
Location: Hybrid three days a week onsite the studio in Vancouver, Edmonton or Montreal.
Duration: 12 months
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage a cross-disciplinary team, including designers, writers, software engineers, Quality Verification, and other production staff, with a focus on activities, cinematics, and presentation.
• Own the Activities, Cinematics, and Presentation Seasonal Content Team’s strategy and schedule, ensuring on-time delivery of updates and content while maintaining quality, collaboration, and communication.
• Collaborate with producers, product managers, and other stakeholders to drive ongoing seasonal content delivery.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement through post-mortems and data-driven iteration.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to seasonal content delivery.
• Coordinate with partners and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless content development and delivery.
• Manage resource allocation, budgets, and team capacity to support seasonal content priorities and long-term objectives.
• Organize and facilitate Agile ceremonies (planning, scrum, sprint retrospectives) to support continuous improvement and delivery.
• Champion a player-first mindset and foster an inclusive, innovative, and growth-oriented team culture.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of project management, production, or team leadership experience in game development, with at least 2 years focused on live game or live service game development.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, resource management, and cross-functional team leadership.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
• Experience engaging and motivating remote and hybrid teams in an evolving environment.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Data-driven with the ability to translate analytics and player feedback into actionable strategies.
• Passion for games and delivering outstanding player experiences.
