D&I teams are involved in every aspect of data, driving strategy and governance; building powerful data and AI applications; and developing personalization, experimentation, and analytics tools, and more. When you join D&I, you're joining a team of passionate experts working to enable more profound understanding, better ways of working, and more meaningful experiences for our players.
The Challenge Ahead:
The D&I Data Group develops a unified Big Data pipeline across all franchises at Electronic Arts. This live service platform incorporates data collection, ingestion, processing, access, and visualization—all built on a modern, cloud-based tech stack with cutting-edge tools. The Data Group provides the tools and platform that power the future of game development, marketing, sales, accounting, and customer experience.
We are seeking developers who want to contribute innovative solutions to our live service platform for one of the most creative companies in technology. You'll have the opportunity to work on scalable systems that handle massive data volumes while enabling real-time insights that drive business decisions across EA's global operations.
As a Software Engineer Intern on the Lifecycle Management team, you will contribute to the systems that personalize player experiences at scale. You’ll work with large data sets, modern backend and frontend technologies, and explore applications of AI to help improve player journeys.
Responsibilities:
You will work with cross-functional teams including Content Management & Delivery, Messaging, Segmentation, Recommendation, and Experimentation to streamline the live services workflow.
Partner with a dedicated mentor and engineering leads to design, prototype, and implement features that drive impact for millions of players.
You will evaluate where and how EA's live service solutions, studio tech stacks, and vendor solutions can work together and help to achieve both engineering and business goals in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
You will use massive data sets from 20+ game studios to promote a data-driven decision-making process and experimentation culture.
You will engage with Game Studios, Experience, and Brand organizations to understand their use cases, and drive e2e solutions to meet the requirements.
You will work with Legal and Privacy teams to ensure that compliance directives are strictly followed.
You will work with product managers and customers directly to understand the use cases, come up with solutions and drive the areas of development with the best ROI.
Required Skills:
You are familiar with software development practices, including writing clean, reusable code, and basic understanding of test-driven development and continuous integration.
You are proficient in at least one programming language such as Java or Python.
You have experience with front-end development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular).
You are familiar with back-end development frameworks and technologies (e.g., Spring Boot).
You have experience working with multi-cloud architectures to manage data pipelines across vendors.
You have experience working with online & offline databases, including columnar databases, relational databases or document databases.
Curiosity about AI, LLMs, or personalization systems is a plus.
You must be available for a full-time paid internship in the summer of 2026.
At this time, we are considering Undergrad students who will be enrolled in an accredited degree program in the summer of 2026, slated to graduate no earlier than December 2026. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis during the 12-week internship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Please ensure that your graduation date is visible on your resume.
