Our Motive is to develop innovative action games set in iconic worlds where every player feels like the hero. Let's say that again—iconic worlds where every player feels like the hero.

Our passion has taken us from imagining dogfighter pilots in Star Wars™: Squadrons to re-creating Isaac Clarke onboard the Ishimura in Dead Space™. Currently, we're working on two exciting projects, an original Iron Man™ action-adventure game and what's coming next for Battlefield™.

We believe in sharing our passion with our community and each other, fostering an inclusive culture, and nurturing a growth mindset. Although our approach may seem simple, it leads us to create the best work of our careers, bringing unique and immersive experiences to our players.

Motive is looking for a Vertical Director of Production .

As Production Directors our aim is to effectively lead, coordinate and oversee the development and successful completion of our game delivering results on time, within budget and to the highest quality throughout production. This will be done by effectively coordinating resources, schedules and team efforts, iterating and adjusting to serve the product and creative needs, ensuring that we meet stakeholders expectations, reaching consensus on ambitious yet achievable goals, and maintaining open and clear communications. We thrive to foster collaboration, encourage innovation, and champion a culture of excellence. We trust our teams to work autonomously by providing them the right framework and level of responsibility so they can exercise ownership and accountability. We believe in our teams to remain creative and to keep learning as well as ensuring everyone has opportunities for personal growth.

Responsibilities

As a Vertical Director of Production, you are responsible for the timely and quality delivery of a large area of the game in line with the project vision and constraints. As such you need to ensure that your vertical PMs and DPs as well as the vertical stakeholders have the direction and support they need to ensure their teams commit and deliver as expected and in healthy conditions within our project Production Framework.

  • you constantly reiterate the goals based on concept and design to the team to keep them focused on the direction
  • you seek constant alignment between the different stakeholders, support collaboration between teams and ensure that intentions, progress and priorities are clear
  • you drive ownership, empowerment and buy-in on direction, you create desire, understanding and trust to follow direction
  • you ensure each feature need has goals and measurable results so that you can determine the impact of the feature, its priority, identify analytic needs, and monitor results
  • you analyze results and realign expectations when they are derailing from initial intentions

Create high performing team environment:

  • you partner closely with your vertical team leadership to ensure that the teams commit to ambitious yet achievable goals
  • you monitor the vertical team health, flight risks, performance management needs and take action to positively impact trends
  • you support your vertical PMs/DPs and your direct reports in their development goals to help them level up
  • you lead by example and mentor/coach your PMs/DPs so they improve their project management, communication and leadership skills and learn how to deal with conflict
  • you ensure that your teams PMs/DPs deliver on their own PMs/DPs goals as expected and if required, plan an iteration or review with them before results are presented back
  • you work with the vertical leadership to ensure cover plans are organized for yourself, your vertical team, or your stakeholders whenever PTOs are planned
  • you ensure information flows effectively and regularly to ensure cross-team visibility & alignment within your vertical but also with other teams, internal and external partners
