The QVS Mobile team at Electronic Arts builds and maintains the core automation frameworks, pipelines, and tools that empower mobile game development across EA studios. Our mission is to enable efficient, scalable, and reliable development by building robust automation systems and technical solutions that streamline validation, build processing, and delivery. We’re looking for a Software Engineer II with solid C# development skills and a strong interest in game development and automation frameworks. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys writing clean, maintainable code and wants to apply engineering skills to improve how mobile games are tested, validated, and shipped. You’ll collaborate with engineers across gameplay, build, and QA teams to deliver automation solutions that enhance speed and quality in production environments.

Role Overview:
EA’s Quality Engineering team is currently seeking a Software Engineer to join the QE effort. Experience the dynamic, creative, and challenging environment of mobile game development.


In this role, you will constantly push the envelope in quality and design through cutting-edge tools and automation. You will contribute to developing an automation framework, setting up an automation platform, building performance metrics pipelines and improving our automation environment. The goal would be to improve productivity through identifying and addressing bottlenecks in the QV workflow. 


This individual should have well-rounded programming skills, be capable of working on all portions of a technology stack and be able to independently assess and estimate tasks. The role requires a personality type that is outgoing, dynamic, enthusiastic and able to network successfully across many groups and individuals in both the development and quality verification domains to build and maintain excellent relationships and communications channels.

Role Summary

  • Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks, tools, and systems supporting EA’s mobile projects. Examples specific to QV could be automated debug and regression testing systems(DART), automated triage and ticketing of issues, etc.

  • Partner with development, build, and QA teams to expand automation capabilities and streamline mobile game workflows.

  • Support automation pipelines, investigate issues, and ensure stability across projects.

  • Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and process improvements within the automation team.

  • Learn and actively participate in the evolution of EA’s mobile automation ecosystem.


Required Skills:

  • 4 to 8 years of professional development experience, with at least one year in C++

  • Strong Object-Oriented Programming fundamentals 

  • A solid foundation in - 

    • Computer Science fundamentals 

    • Algorithms

    • Design patterns

    • Data Structures

    • Automation Testing

    • SDLC and STLC knowledge

    • C# Scripting

    • Javascript

    • Python Scripting

  • Ability to identify automation opportunities, gaps in coverage and proactively introduce innovative automation strategies into the overall development processes.

  • Monitor product quality Indicators throughout project duration to give a constant heartbeat on product quality

  • Able to demonstrate strong ownership, solid drive to complete communicated objectives.

  • Ability to build and maintain an effective working relationship with stakeholders, monitor requirements and proactively provide suggestions on processes that present room for improvement

  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills and ability to work with a large, cross-functional, and distributed team.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science or related concentration, equivalent and/or combination of education.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience with iOS and Android software development.

  • CI/CD Processes

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, TeamCity, GitHub Actions)

  • We are increasingly seeing use cases where AI has been used to do things like author automated tests, perform AI-assisted incident response, AI-assisted issue triaging, AI-assisted fault tracing etc. Any prior experience with this kind of AI implementation is an added benefit

  • Experience developing automated tests that focus on performance scenarios, generating metrics to help evaluate game performance and evaluating metrics to spot performance issues

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision 


Scope and Impact:

  • Work with development and quality verification teams in an Agile Scrum environment to design, develop, deliver, own and improve reliable and robust tools and platforms

  • Own, extend and maintain automation frameworks, tools, and processes used across studios

  • Profile games and tools to enable automation and the collection of runtime metrics

  • Coordination with offsite teams on delivering automation results, from implementation to execution

  • Design and deliver new tools to support development and quality verification goals
