The Challenge Ahead
The commerce and identity team is part of EADP (EA digital platform) which is tasked to develop one of the largest eCommerce and Identity platforms to power hundreds of cross-platform games played by hundreds of millions of players. The distributed online platform is responsible for providing foundation services to games including identity management, authentication, authorization, account security, subscription, billing, payment, virtual currency, provisioning, entitlement, risk and fraud at 24x7 with 99.99% reliability. Open-source cutting-edge technologies are widely used such as Cloud computing, Aurora, Redis, Kafka, AI agent, etc. This is a unique opportunity to work on online space for a great game company. What a Software Engineer Intern, Commerce and Identity team does at EA
The successful candidate for this position will serve as a Software Engineer Intern on the Commerce and Identity team and will be responsible for the design and implementation of our commerce/identity management system and platform development.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with mentor and program managers to understand business requirements and translate those into technical designs.
Participate in technical design and implementation of features.
Design underlying database schema, interface, and plan for capacity.
Implement high quality code with comprehensive unit testing.
Evaluate and adopt technologies which improve the team efficiency and platform capabilities.
Qualifications:
BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
Familiar with one of programing languages such as Java, C# or C++
Solid computer science background including Algorithm, Data Structure, Operation System, Database etc. You’re a true developer!
Passionate to be a full-stack engineer and eager to learn and improve distributed online system
Ability to quickly learn complex systems and new technologies
Exceptional analytical and creative problem solving skills

You must be available for a full-time paid internship in the summer of 2026.
At this time, we are considering Masters students who will be enrolled in an accredited degree program in the summer of 2026, slated to graduate no earlier than December 2026. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis during the 12-week internship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location. EA has listed the pay ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, degree type (e.g. Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD), what stage you are in your degree journey (i.e. freshman, sophomore, etc.), qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs. HOURLY PAY RANGES • California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento): º $32 - $53 USD Hourly The pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including 80 hours per year of sick time (prorated based on scheduled hours per week if less than full-time), 16 paid company holidays per year, medical insurance, and 401(k). Interns in California are also eligible for Voluntary Disability Insurance. |
