About the Role:

At Maxis, we thrive on outrageous thinking. It’s the fuel that inspires the best games in the world. We’re innovators and great storytellers. But it’s not just about amazing your peers—it’s about amazing yourself and our fans. Take risks, collaborate with brilliant minds and dare to dream big. Together, we can impact millions of players every day.

As a Game Analyst Intern on The Sims franchise, you’ll work with massive volumes of player behavioural data and deliver insights and developing models that inform game design, feature prioritisation, and product development.  You will report to the Manager of Analytics.

You’ll work with a large but tight-knit studio of enthusiastic industry craftspeople from all walks of life. You’ll also join a group of experienced analysts and data scientists as a member of the embedded-and-dedicated Data & Analytics (DnA) team.

Responsibilities:

  • You will support the Maxis Analytics team to understand and track game performance metrics such as acquisition, engagement, retention and monetization.

  • You will support our data team’s strategy of building data products that improve the player experience. You will use your demonstrated experience building, validating and deploying predictive models and algorithms to address real-world problems.

  • You will evaluate the impact/success of live service events, content updates and marketing campaigns. Establish benchmarks and provide projections during the planning phases; perform analysis to inform retrospectives; make recommendations for feature and content improvement.

  • Through data analysis, you will find new opportunities to improve the player experience, improve acquisition, and improve incremental revenue.

  • You will help influence decisions and product strategy through fact-based, data-driven insights; serve in Maxis' transition to becoming a more data informed studio.

Qualifications:

  • You have practical experience with SQL, and Python or R

  • You are experienced with predictive modelling

  • You have experience with machine learning and other AI methodologies

You must be available for a full-time paid internship in the summer of 2025

We are only considering students who will be enrolled in an accredited degree program in the summer of 2025, slated to graduate no earlier than December 2025. You must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis during the 16-week internship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
