Our Motive is to develop innovative action games set in iconic worlds where every player feels like the hero. Let's say that again—iconic worlds where every player feels like the hero.
Our passion has taken us from imagining dogfighter pilots in Star Wars™: Squadrons to re-creating Isaac Clarke onboard the Ishimura in Dead Space™. Currently, we're working on two exciting projects, an original Iron Man™ action-adventure game and what's coming next for Battlefield™.
We believe in sharing our passion with our community and each other, fostering an inclusive culture, and nurturing a growth mindset. Although our approach may seem simple, it leads us to create the best work of our careers, bringing unique and immersive experiences to our players.
Motive is looking for a Technical Animator specializing in cinematic content, pipelines and workflows to join its Iron Man team using Unreal Engine 5. You will report to the Technical Cinematics Director and collaborate with the cinematic animation team, along with other technical animators and technical designers, to help integrate and maintain our in-engine cinematic content.
Responsibilities:
- Apply and support the project’s workflows for cinematic content creation and integration.
- Verify cinematics content is behaving as expected in the game.
- Actively troubleshoot technical issues related to the cinematic content, tools and workflows.
- Actively communicate with the cinematics team to understand their content, processes and needs.
- Guide and tutor cinematic animators on project best practices.
- Help facilitate communications between cinematic animators and other technical staff.
Requirements:
- Experience using Unreal Engine 5 and its cinematic focused features in professional game development.
- Experience integrating or managing animation data within a game engine.
- Strong familiarity with animation software, such as Maya, MotionBuilder or 3dsMax
- Experience using task tracking and management tools, such as Jira or Shotgrid.
- Experience using version control systems, such as Perforce.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong teamwork skills while also retaining the ability to take ownership and work independently.
- Holds their work to high standards and desires to meet and exceed expectations.
- Passion for creating high-quality storytelling and cinematic content for games.
Supplemental Skills:
- Additional Technical Animation skills, such as tools creation or rigging, are not required for this specific role but would be a bonus.
