The Studio Operations team is a global team across 30+ locations and includes Quality Verification and Standards, Central Development Operations, Localization, Animation, Audio, Capture, Rigging and Blendshapes. As a central team, we bring together the best development solutions to further support game teams in achieving their vision and EA's ambition to be the best place to make games.

Join us for an opportunity to work with one of the best game development teams in the world.

This position is focused on driving the effort of building an automated visual anomaly detection solution for our games. At EA we’re always looking to use the newest technologies and push the boundaries of game development. We have been experimenting with ML-driven object detection and classification algorithms to automatically detect visual glitches in games. We’re looking for a person who can work with our experts to develop an automated workflow that uses these technologies and makes them available to the Quality Verification (QV) and development teams.

As an engineer within the Quality Verification Engineering (QVE) Team and as a member of the worldwide QV organisation, you will report to the Engineering Manager and help ensure that our games will be stable through every stage of development. You will be tasked to set a new bar for one of the most advanced, feature-complete automation platforms to power the development and testing of games played by hundreds of millions of gamers worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with ad-hoc requests related to test automation and test farm coverage in the CEST time zone.

  • Oversee, develop, and automate the maintenance of the test automation framework and the test farm tools.

  • Contribute to the technical design and implementation of advanced game automation service features and infrastructure.

  • Participate in the design of underlying storage schema, interfaces, and important platform capabilities.

  • Implement and test new features to facilitate change.

  • Evaluate and adopt technologies that enhance team efficiency and platform capabilities critically.

  • Review peers' code, share feedback, and promote knowledge sharing and code readability.

Required Qualifications

  • You have 2+ years of coding experience, and a solid computer science background.

  • Experience with C#, .Net with some C++ and Python.

  • You have experience with automated testing frameworks and methodologies for automated software testing.

  • You have familiarity or understand the challenges behind building scalable distributed systems and have knowledge of common development practices.

  • Experience with gaming consoles such as Xbox and PlayStation will be considered as a bonus.
