The EA Security team protects EA by reducing our exposure to security risks. We raise risk awareness for the entire company and provide measured, proportionate security and risk management controls, services and solutions. We also ensure that EA meets all required security standards as defined by multiple regulatory bodies. Keeping EA safe isn’t a game; join us as we keep the future of play secure for everyone.

Summary

Do you dream of a world with no cheaters in games? Do you have experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC)? Do you know the difference between an aimbot and a wall hack? And do you think that all players have the right to a fair and fun gaming experience? If so, this is the job for you!

The Anti-Cheat Operations Analyst is a member of EA Security's Secure Platform Engineering & Anti-Cheat Response (SPEAR) team and will report to the manager of the Gameplay Integrity Operations team.

As an Operations Analyst, your primary job will involve monitoring the environment of our games using our internal anti-cheat solution. Your work will help ensure fair and fun experiences for EA's players across all of EA's games.

In addition to running daily anti-cheat operations, you'll perform investigations into suspected cheating activity to confirm or refute reports and improve the quality of our detections. You’ll deep dive into data provided by a variety of tools, and you’ll gather and review threat intelligence supporting our anti-cheat and UGX (user-generated experiences & modding) protection pipelines.

You should have experience working in a Security Operations Center, an understanding of the cheating problem in the gaming industry, and a passion to learn new technologies and challenge assumptions.

  • Investigate suspected cheating activity;

  • Gather threat intelligence to support efforts for anti-cheat and UGX (user-generated content and modding);

  • Perform triage and investigations of enforcement appeals;

  • Write concise documentation for a variety of topics dealing with anti-cheat operations;

  • Identify needs and lead the development of your technical skills in the anti-cheat space;

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience as a SOC Tier 1 analyst working with SIEM technologies;

  • Knowledge of the cheating problem in the gaming industry (PC cheats, modding, external cheats, internal cheats, wall hacks, aimbots, etc.);

  • Basic knowledge of operating system fundamentals (processes, threads, virtual memory, etc.);

  • Identify knowledge gaps and seek the right sources to close those gaps;

  • Excellent verbal and written English skills;

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Security or similar, or relevant industry experience;

  • Information Security certifications such as CEH, CISSP, GSEC, OSCP, OSCE, or Security+;

  • Experience building tools that automate tasks;
