EA SPORTS FC Mobile Shanghai is a global team devoted to developing and operating a high-quality mobile football game experience. As a proactive and experienced 3D Character Artist, you will help define visual standards for FC Mobile. This is a hybrid role, based in Shanghai. You'll handle hands-on production, including character prototyping, visual debugging, pipeline optimization, and asset performance across device tiers. You will report to the Art Director in Shanghai.


Responsibilities

  • Create high-quality character assets aligned with visual direction and technical specs.

  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure style and performance consistency.

  • Troubleshoot bugs, resolve pipeline issues, and increase assets for multiple device tiers.

  • Contribute to R&D efforts exploring tools, workflows, and visual techniques.

  • Integrate and polish outsourced assets.

  • Document visual standards, workflows, and best practices.

  • Support external art reviews and deliver feedback to maintain quality.

  • Assist Art Director in maintaining visual fidelity and alignment with creative goals.

  • Partner with production to improve pipelines and manage daily tasks.

  • Identify production risks and coordinate mitigation strategies.


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years in AAA character art, as a lead or senior artist.

  • Grasp of anatomy, hard surface modeling, fabric sculpting, hair, and texturing.

  • Understanding of shape language, silhouette, and color theory.

  • Flexible across various art styles.

  • Experience with creative briefs, visual targets, and prototyping.

  • Experience with real-time workflows and open to new industry techniques.

  • Collaborative with art and tech teams on optimization and debugging.

  • Clear communicator—verbal, written, paint-overs, presentations.

  • Proficient with mainstream game engines.
