This is a hybrid role based in our Helsinki-based studio, Finland. 

We're looking for a passionate and dedicated Software Engineer who will excel in an ever-evolving development environment. As a Software Engineer within the Tracktwenty Studio you'll work as part of the experienced team on the development and the technical design of SimCity BuildIt. We’re looking for an accomplished and dedicated Software Engineer with emphasis on graphics programming on C++. 

Reporting to the Technical Director, you’ll work as part of an experienced team on the development with a focus on designing and implementing visual effects, shaders and overall 3D graphics and scenes. You will also maintain and expand our inhouse 3D graphics pipeline tools and will work with the art team to automate their work and remove bottlenecks. You value broadening your skills and making impactful contributions across multiple aspects of the game. As a versatile generalist, you excel at tackling technical challenges and finding solutions to ensure our games’ success 

Responsibilities 

  • Design and implement quality C++ game code. 

  • Design and update shaders, visual effects and 3D game content. 

  • Experience with both enhancing existing codebases and designing new systems from the ground up.

  • Work together with other disciplines such as artists and designers to bring concepts and ideas to life. 

  • Ensure scalability, reliability and maintainability for both iOS and Android platforms.

  • Involvement in different parts of the game code, such as game logic, external API's, UI/UX. 


    Requirements 

  • 3+ years of experience with modern C++ and developing games on native code. 

  • Experience with OpenGL or other 3D graphics API code. 

  • Experience with GLSL or similar shading languages. 

  • Experienced in improving existing code efficiency. 

  • Experience developing and shipping games for smartphones and tablets (iOS/Android). 

  • Experience across different domains, e.g. graphics, gameplay, UI, and animation. 

  • Experience with engine development or game development with inhouse engines.

  • Experience developing iOS or Android platform code.
