The Associate Data Science engineer will report to Director Engineering responsible for Data & Insights.

Responsibilities:

• Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities within player, product, and business datasets.

• Query, clean, validate, and transform data from multiple sources to create reliable datasets for analysis and modeling.

• Apply statistical techniques and foundational machine learning methodologies to generate actionable business insights.

• Support experimentation, forecasting, and predictive modeling initiatives to help evaluate product features and business performance.

• Develop reports, dashboards, visualizations, and analytical tools that effectively communicate insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Translate business questions into analytical approaches and measurable outcomes in collaboration with product, marketing, and operational teams.

• Utilize SQL, Python, R, and other analytical tools to perform analysis and automate repeatable workflows.

• Contribute to the development, validation, and maintenance of analytical models and data products.

• Follow software development and analytics best practices, including documentation, version control, reproducibility, and peer reviews.

• Partner with data scientists, engineers, product managers, marketers, and analysts to support data-driven decision making.

• Communicate analytical findings, recommendations, and business implications clearly to stakeholders.

• Continuously learn and apply new analytical techniques, tools, and industry best practices to improve business outcomes.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.

• 0-3 years of experience in data science, analytics, business intelligence, or a related quantitative field.

• Foundational understanding of statistics, hypothesis testing, probability, and data analysis techniques.

• Experience with SQL and relational databases for data extraction and analysis.

• Familiarity with Python, R, or similar analytical programming languages.

• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts, model development, and evaluation techniques.

• Experience working with structured and unstructured datasets.

• Knowledge of data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar).

• Ability to communicate analytical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to experimentation and A/B testing methodologies.

• Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Experience working with large-scale datasets.

• Interest in gaming, player analytics, machine learning, or digital product analytics.

• Understanding of predictive modeling, forecasting, or customer behavior analytics.
