What does a Technical Artist do?

As a Associate Technical Art Director on the Frostbite Rendering team, you will report to Frostbite's Art & Rendering Technical Art Director. You will directly contribute to and push the boundaries of the rendering techniques and workflows that Frostbite releases to our community of game teams. You will work closely with engineers on the Frostbite team and content creators throughout EA to steer the design of new features and toolsets to create a world-class rendering toolset in the Frostbite game engine.  

 

You Will

As a Associate Technical Art Director on Frostbite, you will collaborate directly with engineers, product owners and game teams to improve the features, tools, and workflows of our rendering systems.

You will collaborate and advise on tools, workflows and best practices with Engineers, Technical Artists and Content Creators across all of EA studios using Frostbite.

You Will Need

5+ years in game development, with a focus around rendering and visual quality

Experience with game engines and runtime rendering

Shipped 2 + games or similar within relevant industries, or relevant experience with realtime performance and rendering production.

Bonus

Experience with lighting, materials, BRDFs, shaders, hair, cloth, post processes/screen space techniques, upscaling or other related image quality rendering techniques

Experience using Maya, Substance or other DCC tools

Knowledge of HLSL and scripting languages

Shipped a AAA title

Experience helping others achieve their best through game development tools

Comfortable engaging and building relationships with multiple teams and individuals globally
