Join our Global Commercial Organization's Digital Merchandising team, where you'll promote data-informed strategies to improve player engagement, acquisition, and merchandising performance across EA APP, Epic, Steam, Nintendo, Xbox, and PlayStation.

As a Data Scientist, you will analyze trends, build merchandising performance forecasts, provide recommendations, and shape merchandising performance by while collaborating across teams.

Main Responsibilities

Merchandising Performance Forecasting

  • You will analyze historical data and player trends to develop accurate performance forecasts based on core Measurements.
  • Oversee forecasting processes, lead reviews, and prepare insights for senior partners.
  • Collaborate to align goals and provide relevant reports.

Performance Analysis & Insights

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of partner channels (traffic, engagement, conversion rates).
  • Leverage in-game insights to enhance merchandising strategies and player journeys.
  • Apply attribution models to measure marketing and merchandising impact.
  • Address gaps in full-journey metrics with applicable insights.

Channel Strategy Optimization

  • Evaluate and enhance channel-specific merchandising strategies to grow reach, engagement, and conversions.
  • Use A/B testing and player segmentation to maximize performance.

Data Visualization & Storytelling

  • Transform complex data into clear, applicable insights for senior leadership.
  • Build compelling reports and dashboards using Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Communicate the impact of merchandising decisions through storytelling and stong presentation skills.

Advanced Technical & AI Skills

  • Deep Learning & Predictive Analytics – Using AI-driven insights to enhance merchandising strategies.
  • NLP & Text Analytics – Analyzing user reviews, in-game behavior, and store feedback for actionable insights.
  • Big Data Processing – Hands-on experience with Spark, Databricks, or Snowflake for large-scale data analysis.

Project Ownership & Innovation

  • You will lead new projects to enhance merchandising performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • You will develop analytics roadmaps and tools to propel business growth.

Qualifications

  • You will have 5+ years in analytics, focusing on merchandising, channel performance, or marketing in console gaming or digital platforms.
  • Knowledge of Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation storefronts.
  • Experience mentoring other analysts.
  • Experience collaborating within a globally diverse organization.
  • Proficiency in SQL, R Studio, Python, Excel (can write advanced macros), and Google Sheets.
  • Expertise in data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience in statistical modelling (e.g., regression, classification) and data engineering (pipelines, blending data sources).
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques.
  • A growth-oriented, proactive mindset with the ability to thrive independently.
  • Data storytelling & persuasive presentation – Creating compelling narratives to influence senior leadership.
  • Agile project management – Experience with JIRA, Confluence, or Scrum for project execution. Ownership and end-to-end execution of projects with minimal oversight.
  • Cross-cultural collaboration – Working within a globally distributed team with diverse market needs.
  • Experience with Looker, Airtable, JavaScript for integrating analytics into merchandising workflows represents an advantage.
