Join our Global Commercial Organization’s Digital Merchandising team, where you'll drive data-informed strategies to optimize player engagement, acquisition, and merchandising performance across EA APP, Epic, Steam, Nintendo, Xbox, and PlayStation.

As a Data Scientist, you will analyze trends, build and maintain merchandising performance forecasts, provide strategic recommendations, and shape merchandising performance by working independently while collaborating across teams.

Key Responsibilities

Merchandising Performance Forecasting

  • Analyze historical data and player trends to develop accurate performance forecasts based on core KPIs.
  • Oversee forecasting processes, lead reviews, and prepare insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align objectives and provide actionable reports.

Performance Analysis & Insights

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of partner channels (traffic, engagement, conversion rates).
  • Leverage in-game insights to enhance merchandising strategies and player journeys.
  • Apply attribution models to measure marketing and merchandising impact.
  • Address gaps in full-journey metrics with actionable insights.

Channel Strategy Optimization

  • Evaluate and enhance channel-specific merchandising strategies to drive reach, engagement, and conversions.
  • Leverage A/B testing and player segmentation to maximize performance.

Data Visualization & Storytelling

  • Transform complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Build compelling reports and dashboards using Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Communicate the impact of merchandising decisions through strong presentation skills.

Advanced Technical & AI Skills

  • Deep Learning & Predictive Analytics – Leveraging AI-driven insights to enhance merchandising strategies.
  • NLP & Text Analytics – Analyzing user reviews, in-game behavior, and store feedback for actionable insights.
  • Big Data Processing – Hands-on experience with Spark, Databricks, or Snowflake for large-scale data analysis.
  • API Integration & Automation – Utilizing REST APIs, Python scripting, or JavaScript to optimize analytics workflows.

Project Ownership & Innovation

  • Lead new projects to enhance merchandising performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop analytics roadmaps, tools, and processes to propel business growth.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in analytics, focusing on merchandising, channel performance, or marketing in console gaming or digital platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation storefronts
  • Experience mentoring or managing other analysts.
  • Proven ability to collaborate within a globally diverse organization.
  • Proficiency in SQL, R Studio, Python, Excel, and Google Sheets.
  • Expertise in data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience in statistical modelling (e.g., regression, classification) and data engineering (pipelines, blending data sources).
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques.
  • A growth-oriented, proactive mindset with the ability to thrive independently.
  • Data storytelling & persuasive presentation – Crafting compelling narratives to influence senior leadership.
  • Agile project management – Experience with JIRA, Confluence, or Scrum for effective project execution. Ownership and end-to-end execution of projects with minimal oversight.
  • Cross-cultural collaboration – Working efficiently within a globally distributed team with diverse market needs.
  • Experience with Looker, Airtable, JavaScript for integrating analytics into merchandising workflows represents an advantage.
