Description & Requirements
We are looking for a Development Director to join the Frostbite Sports and skate team. The Development Director Role reports to the Director of Engine Development in Frostbite and as a Development Director, you will combine people and project management skills while leading multiple teams.
Frostbite is EA's proprietary game engine that comes equipped with many tools and technologies designed to build incredible games. Our in-house engine offers the unique ability to adapt to each game while working hand-in-hand to prioritize what to build. Our goal is to empower creators all over the world to bring their best ideas to life by creating an engine that amplifies innovation across every discipline.
Responsibilities:
Help us create the planning of multiple projects supporting our internal or external teams.
Develop a roadmap by collaborating with our teams, and partners and bring it through to completion.
Identify resourcing needs.
Manage resource allocation, forecasting for financial submission
Manage risks, understand the impact, and delineate urgency/severity.
Provide regular status reporting on progress.
Develop project KPIs that track project quality, delivery, and predictability.
Motivate the team, promote collaboration and bring out the best of everyone
Build processes and efficiencies
Qualifications:
You have experience in project management (5+ years)
You have experience managing software engineers (3+ years)
You have experience working on game or game engine development (5+ years)
You have experience managing large programs in a distributed team environment
You have experience managing multiple teams in parallel
You bring enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and a hunger for learning new techniques
You have experience in Atlassian Suite (Jira, JAAS)
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
