Join the Battlefield Engine team as a Development Director and help shape the future of Battlefield.

As part of the Foundational Tech organization, the Engine team plays a critical role in supporting Battlefield development teams across regions—including Sweden, the UK, the US, and Canada. This cross-functional, geographically distributed team is dedicated to developing core technology and providing game development services in the Battlefield Engine

As Development Director, you'll lead technically experienced Software Engineering teams and coach other DDs to improve their team's efficiency. You will work hybrid or onsite in Motive Studio in Montreal.

Your leadership will directly influence the player's experience across all Battlefield titles.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience, with 6+ years of management experience working in a collaborative global team environment.
  • Excellent comprehension of lean, Agile, and waterfall methodologies.
  • Customer-centric and engaged in stakeholder management.
  • Experience with distributed software development across multiple time zones.
  • Solid experience working with deep technical teams.
  • Experience working with different organizational levels, and the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
  • Outstanding partner collaboration and dependency tracking.
  • Service-oriented approach with experience in live operations or service operations teams.
  • Context-switch from daily team operations to strategic planning.

Desirable Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and certifications.
  • Agile, PMP/PMI, or PRINCE certifications.
  • Experience with financial or business reporting.
  • Experience working with technical teams in both product and R&D environments.
  • Video game development experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the leadership team to define the teams' strategy and lead the teams in execution against milestones and main deliverables.
  • Hands-on work of the operational aspects of 2+ teams, including short/long-term project reporting, risk management, capacity planning, and efficiency processes.
  • Oversee process compliance and execution of other teams and DDs within the Engine organization.
  • Work with partner DDs to track dependencies. This includes financial, development, analytical, and creative teams.
  • Implement operational changes and processes to promote motivated teams.
  • Balance priorities and find creative solutions to achieve results.
  • Establish regular communication with the team and important partners to provide project status updates.
  • Inform the team and partners' teams on results and changes.
