We are looking for an experienced Development Director to join the Maxis QV team. You will report to our Quality Verification Development Director II.

You will lead the strategy and delivery of the Quality Assurance plan on site with our growing team located in Hyderabad, India and partner with our teams located in Romania and North America. You will focus on developing and growing a new team to support the delivery of our Sims products. 


🔑Your Responsibilities 

Project Management

  • Align teams towards outlined goals and ensure milestone achievement

  • Balance scope, timelines and overall project quality

  • Identify and mitigate risks, manage blockers, prioritize tasks, and ensure project goals are met

  • Ensure effective reporting to leadership and stakeholders

Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Build, mentor and support QA teams, ensuring professional development and effective team collaboration

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement

  • Collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders, including developers, analysts, and producers

  • Manage remote teams

Process Efficiency

  • Improve operational effectiveness of team effort by assessing current practices, incorporating new strategies, and increasing predictability

Resource Management

  • Scope and capacity management across the Hyderabad QV team

  • Budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to ensure cost-effectiveness and financial efficiency.

People/Talent Management

  • Coordinate talent management and succession planning to improve the testing discipline

  • Monitor and evolve talent skill mix through training and recruitment plans

  • Foster a culture of diversity and inclusion

  • Conduct performance reviews, career development, and training


✅ Our Requirements

Experience and Knowledge / Education

  • 8+ years of game or software development QA experience, including 3+ years in a lead/manager role.

  • Experience managing multi-discipline teams and working with remote teams


Technical Skills:

  • Quality Assurance Leadership (Expert)

    • Guides team in implementing gaming industry's best practices for QA.

    • Establishes upstream testing strategies across projects.

  • Resource Management (Expert)

    • Can manage teams of temporary and permanent staff across multiple locations

    • Determines best way of leveraging talent for project deliverables 

  • Budget Management (Advanced)

    • Manages cost effectively

    • Can measure cost vs value and identifies opportunities for efficiency

  • Problem Solving (Advanced)

    • Able to rapidly build solutions and mitigations to emerging Delivery problems

  • Process & Test Management (Advanced)

    • Can organize test activities for short and long term deliverables across multiple workstreams 

    • Implements relevant processes to measure large scale test effectiveness

  • Quality & Risk Management (Expert)

    • Sets quality targets for project and team 

    • Effectively assesses risks to delivery and defines actionable mitigations/contingency plans
