EA SPORTS is one of the most iconic brands in entertainment - connecting hundreds of millions around the world to the sports they love through a portfolio of industry-leading video games.
Located in Vancouver, British Columbia, the UFC/NHL Technology Group (TG) provides critical support to development teams in Vancouver (UFC and NHL), focusing on engine integration and long-term technical initiatives across many areas of game development. This team works 3 days/week onsite in our Burnaby studio. This is a 12-month contract, with the possibility of longer-term employment.
The Role
The team is searching for a Development Manager (Project Manager) to join the UFC/NHL Technology Group development team. Development Managers are the keepers of the project schedule and play an important role in successfully moving the team from one project phase to the next while ensuring a focus on quality, collaboration and communication.
Your Responsibilities
Manage a development team of Software Engineers
Anticipate bottlenecks, provide management escalation, project prioritization, make tradeoffs, balance the needs versus technical constraints, and promote initial partner deployments.
Focus on the immediate team and identify team issues, and suggest solutions related to execution goals.
Identify task-related processes to improve efficiency.
Ensure each project setup meets the specifications, with regular status reporting and capacity plan updates.
Establish engagement processes to ensure all workflows are clearly defined, processes are documented, and staff are trained on expectations.
Your Qualifications
3+ years of Project Management or Project Lead Experience within a technical environment, managing lifecycles, processes and project planning.
Bachelor's degree in any number of related fields, including Computer Science, Game Development, Business, or 3D Arts.
Experience in a Scrum / Agile software development environment
Knowledge of project management tools (Jira, Excel, …)
Experience working with expansive teams, mediation and conflict resolution
