We're looking for a Director of Experience Design to lead and evolve the design vision for the EA app, our central platform connecting millions of players to games, content, and community. Reporting to the Senior Director of Design, you will shape the end-to-end player experience across discovery, purchase, and engagement.

You will lead a team of Product Designers and partner with Product Management, Engineering, User Research, Data, and Content Design to deliver intuitive, high-quality experiences at scale. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends strategic thinking, design craft, and team development.


What You'll Do

  • Set vision and direction Define and drive a clear experience vision for the EA app, aligning player needs, our goals, and product strategy.

  • Lead and develop the team Manage and grow a team of Product Designers, building a strong culture of craft, collaboration, and accountability.

  • Partner across disciplines Work closely with Product, Engineering, User Research, Data, and Content Design to shape solutions grounded in insight, clarity, and measurable impact.

  • Deliver high-quality experiences Ensure a high bar for usability, accessibility, interaction design, and content clarity across all key journeys.

  • Influence product outcomes Use research, data, and experimentation to inform decisions, improve experiences, and guide long-term product direction.


What You Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in product design, with 4+ years leading and managing design teams

  • Track record shipping consumer-facing digital products at scale

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating systems thinking, interaction design, and high-quality execution

  • Experience working closely with User Research, Data or Analytics, and Content Design

  • Experience with data-informed design, experimentation, and metrics-driven decision-making

  • Experience designing complex platforms such as marketplaces, content ecosystems, or social platforms

  • Experience with UX principles, design systems, and content strategy fundamentals

  • Operate strategically while staying connected to design craft.

  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills

  • Passion for games and player experiences is a strong plus

  • Experience with testing frameworks and product analytics tools


Nice to Have

  • Experience in gaming, entertainment, or subscription-based platforms

  • Familiarity with PC platforms, launchers, or digital storefronts

Pay Transparency - North America

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES
* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$169,500 - $242,600 CAD

Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.
For Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
