Experience Designer 

Join Electronic Art’s Firemonkeys Studio in Melbourne as an Experience Designer, where you will help us design innovative, high-quality and engaging games on iOS and Android devices. We release new meaningful live service updates on a regular basis for The Sims Freeplay, and upcoming, unannounced new titles.

We’re looking for an Experience Designer with extensive experience in the gaming industry with a passion to enhance our player experience. Use your UX and UI design skills to resolve our players problem through iteration, testing and validation. In this diverse role you will work alongside with a variety of creative developers developing AAA mobile games and report to the Studio XD Lead.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and produce incredible visual experiences and interactions in accordance with the direction of the XD Lead, Designer and Product Manager
  • Design and implement aesthetically appealing, innovative and engaging user-experience using our inhouse tools
  • Work closely with game designers, programmers, producers and product manager to resolve our player’s complex problems 
  • Work within an agile environment with cross disciplinary team with effective communication
  • Comfortable with running User Testings Workshops and Present the findings to the team.
  • Ability to approach a feature design through player journey, wireframing, low fidelity mock, high resolution mocks and prototype in Figma.
  • Experienced in working with Figma Component Library 
  • Work within an existing and evolving UI style guide, help solve graphical and technical limitations
  • Advocate for our player experience, identify and work to remove pain points while preserving our games unique design
  • Support and Assist other Experience Designers

Qualifications: 

  • A strong portfolio showcasing your UX/UI design work, including interaction designs and key frame animations
  • Strong illustration skills
  • 5+ years of Videogame and/or relatable App UI experience within Web or Digital
  • Proficiency with Adobe CS, Illustrator, Photoshop and Figma
  • Ability to learn in-house UI development tools
  • Experience in User Research, User Flow, Wireframing and Prototyping
  • Strong communication skills and team player
  • Lives in Melbourne – a hybrid role
  • A passion for video games, art and improving user experience is a must
