Business Title: Experiential Quality Specialist 

The Experiential Quality Specialist   will support the player experience analysis effort dedicated to the Mobile portfolios of EA. You will be called to identify areas worthy of deep diving and execute thorough investigations on core concerns for product development at EA. Those concerns can relate to a variety of UX topics such as open world design, narrative structure, progressions systems, etc. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone interested in learning about a career in UX Research and video games.

Responsibilities:

  • Player Behavioral Insights

  • Research player behaviors, playstyles, and motivations to inform QV strategies.
  • Analyze perceptions of new, lapsed, and dormant players to identify re-engagement opportunities.
  • Research Design and Execution
  • Design and execute surveys, diary tests, usability studies, and playtests.
  • Integrate player feedback into early development and QA processes.
  • Collaboration with Quality Verification Teams

  • Align player research findings with defect prevention and testing strategies.
  • Collaborate with development teams to incorporate insights into product roadmaps and quality targets.
  • Usability and Playability Testing

  • Conduct usability tests and playthroughs to identify friction points and improve accessibility.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to enhance player satisfaction.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyze player feedback and data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Deliver reports and recommendations to QV and development teams.
  • Player-Centric Quality Assurance

  • Integrate player insights into QA processes to prioritize satisfaction and engagement.
  • Leverage AI, machine learning, and data-driven tools to enhance QA efforts.
  • Continuous Improvement

  • Investigate gaps in player experience and escaped defects to refine QA processes.
  • Conduct risk assessments to ensure long-term quality solutions.

Abilities:

  • Strong proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Ability to analyze complex qualitative data (e.g., video transcripts, open-ended responses) and quantitative data (e.g., survey statistics).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate research findings clearly, concisely, and persuasively to diverse stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design principles, heuristics, and best practices, particularly within the mobile gaming space.
  • Experience with playtesting platforms (e.g., PlaytestCloud), survey tools (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, Google Forms), and data analysis software (e.g., Excel, statistical packages).

 

Background:

  • Candidate with a Bachelor’s degree; relevant courses include experimental psychology, human-computer interaction, statistics, market research or anthropology
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and be proactive in seeking help and offering assistance.
  • Knowledge on working with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently, taking initiative in quality verification tasks, and making informed decisions to drive projects forward without supervision.
  • Experience with the following are a plus:
    • Survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey)
    • Statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R, MATLAB)
