Role Overview
 The Level Design Director leads the execution for one of the game’s key experiences. Reporting to the Chapter Level Design Director, you ensure that your experience’s level(s) meet the project’s creative goals and deliver exceptional gameplay quality. You focus on execution, mentorship, and day-to-day excellence across multiple level pods.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of level design for your experience, translating the overall direction into clear, achievable goals.
  • Partner closely with Art, Narrative, and Production to deliver cohesive, high-quality player experiences.
  • Review and guide level work, providing feedback that elevates flow, pacing, and player engagement.
  • Mentor and support Level Design Team to uphold design craft standards and to grow the team.
  • Maintain strong alignment with the Chapter Level Design Director and other experience directors to ensure consistency across the game.
  • Contribute to and apply design validation frameworks and KPIs to track quality and progress.

 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in level design, with leadership roles on AAA shooters or comparable titles.
  • Proven track record of shipping high-quality levels across multiple stages of production.
  • Deep understanding of spatial design, combat flow, and player readability.
  • Skilled collaborator and mentor, able to balance creative vision with production realities.
