What you will do:

  • Lead the creation of prototypes to explore, test and resolve design challenges.
  • Implement and polish new features and content using proprietary tools and visual scripting systems.
  • Utilize qualitative and quantitative data - including playtests and analytics - to refine and enhance designs both pre and post launch.
  • Work with other Designers to oversee system design work to ensure the quality is high and the content is bug free, while supporting your teammates through documentation, knowledge-sharing and mentorship
  • Seek out opportunities to learn new skills to benefit your growth, your team, and the studio
  • Foster an inclusive environment and assist in creating a culture where everyone can grow

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a systems-oriented game designer
  • Expertise in working with Excel and visual scripting tools (such as Unreal Blueprints).
  • Experience with AAA game development, knowledge of varied video game business models, and how design and business model interact.
  • Solid understanding of mass-market appeal, and the ability to innovate within it
  • Enjoy creative problem-solving, and value respectful feedback processes
  • Understand the importance of documentation, teaching others, and knowledge-sharing
  • Passion for crafting gameplay systems, mechanics and game modes
  • Broad taste in games
  • Outstanding written, and oral skills

Nice to have:

  • Experience working on games with complex, tuneable systems
  • Degree in computer science or similar
  • Experience in Lua, Python, Javascript, and/or other scripting languages
  • Ability to read and understand C++
  • Experience of working closely with a large team through all phases of development.
  • Experience developing or improving features and developing content for a game in live service would be preferable
