We are looking for a Senior Designer with free-to-play experience who understands how to balance player motivation, progression pacing, reward value, economy health, and business goals. You will partner with design, product, analytics, engineering, content, production, and QA to build systems that support retention, engagement, monetization, and player trust.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with product and analytics to define goals, evaluate performance, and identify opportunities to improve retention, engagement, and monetization.

  • Create clear design documentation, tuning sheets, economy models, implementation notes, and handoff materials.

  • Work with engineering, tools, and technical partners to move systems from concept into software.

  • Support live operations through event planning, reward refreshes, content updates, economy health reviews, and post-launch tuning.

  • Champion player-first live service design decisions and explain tradeoffs to partners and leadership.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in live service, economy, progression, or systems design.

  • Direct experience working on free-to-play games.

  • Experience designing or tuning progression, rewards, events, missions, battle pass-style systems, or game economies.

  • Experience with retention, monetization, player motivation, progression pacing, and reward psychology.

  • Experience building and maintaining economy models, progression models, tuning sheets, or reward models in spreadsheets (can maintain complex spreadsheets).

  • Comfortable using data to evaluate design performance and make tuning recommendations.

  • Able to break complex systems into clear levers, relationships, risks, and player outcomes.

  • Documentation skills, including feature specs, economy models, tuning notes, and implementation support.

  • Comfortable working with engineering, tools, or technical partners to bring systems into the game.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cosmetic-driven F2P economies, including stores, cosmetic progression, rarity, collection, customization, pricing, and reward value.

  • Experience with battle passes, season passes, event passes, reward calendars, quest systems, or cosmetic reward tracks.

  • Experience with skateboarding or action sports games and culture, creator culture, or player expression systems.
