Description & Requirements

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

Founded in 2010 by the original creators of the Call of Duty Franchise, Respawn was created with the philosophy that when talented people have creative freedom, they’ll make extraordinary games that achieve the unexpected. From our roots as an indie studio to joining the expansive roster of studios at Electronic Arts, this remains our guiding principle. We truly love what we do and want to share our passion with players worldwide.

Our shipped titles include critically acclaimed multi-platform games Apex Legends, Titanfall, Titanfall 2, Star Wars™ Jedi: Fallen Order,  Star Wars™ Jedi: Survivor, and Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond.

Join us for the opportunity to create groundbreaking games with some of the best developer talent in the industry.

We’re looking for a passionate Senior Technical Gameplay Designer who will embrace our philosophy and work with design leadership, artists, code, and other departments to help us create an incredible experience for our players. This position is open to remote candidates.

What you’ll do...

  • Use Unreal Motion Graphics (UMG) to implement complex UI screens.

  • Build out platform-specific features and systems like unique mouse interactions for PC.

  • Support large systems like player-facing input remapping and controls presets.

  • Work with engineering to configure hardware-specific defaults and overrides for settings.

  • Solve complicated technical problems and design smart solutions in an efficient manner that does not compromise on player experience.

  • Ship bug-free, highly polished experiences that push the industry standard for AAA quality.

Ideally, you will have...

  • 7+ years’ experience in the games industry working as a designer, shipping at least two titles.

  • Expert-level understanding of Unreal Engine 5 including its tools and systems such as UMG, the input stack, save data and more.

  • A deep understanding of current PC gaming trends and the Jedi franchise.

  • Experience with text-based scripting, visual scripting, and/or programming languages.

  • Computer Science or related degree.

  • A team player-mindset, understanding the importance of collaboration, and able to communicate effectively with all disciplines and departments.

  • A positive, solution-oriented attitude and passion about the play experience, with a wealth of knowledge across a wide range of games.

  • C++ proficiency is a bonus.

If this opportunity sounds like a great fit for you, please submit your resume and portfolio and we will get back to you once we have reviewed it.
