The Tools and Technology Team within Creative Innovation is looking for accomplished people to help us fulfill our mission of providing creative tools and workflows that allow EA to lead the industry in content quality.

The Challenge Ahead

As a Software Engineer you will work as part of the team building the latest technology for our Character Creation pipeline, reporting to a Development Director. This is a full-stack role, but your onboarding will focus on delivering impactful improvements to the user experience of one of our core character asset tools. You'll work closely with our UX designer to turn feedback into meaningful changes before expanding into backend and full-stack contributions.

This role is Hybrid remote/in-office.

Day to day, you will…

  • Build and maintain web-based tools in partnership with UX designers

  • Develop and support REST API-fronted game content workflow pipelines

  • Identify and resolve software problems in the domain of tools, pipelines, and workflow development.

You are/have…

  • Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other relevant Bachelor's degree OR equivalent training and professional experience (3+ years)

  • Strong experience with frontend JavaScript frameworks (Next.js, Vue, Angular)

  • Experience building and maintaining networked APIs (REST, GraphQL, or similar)

Bonus if you have…

  • Experience with automated testing, both integration and unit testing

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

  • Familiarity with DCCs such as Maya and Houdini

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$100,000 - $139,500 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
