With studios located in Los Angeles and Vancouver, Ripple Effect has been dedicated to the Battlefield franchise since our founding as DICE LA in 2013. We created Battlefield 2042’s Portal and have supported DICE on every Battlefield game since Battlefield 4.

Now, we’re looking for new team members to help us craft the next Battlefield.

We are looking for a creative and passionate individual to craft the best possible experience for our players through the game's user interface. You will work with our experienced team to develop visual designs for in-game UI features such as HUD, map screen, deployment screen, vehicle and weapon UI.

You will report to the Studio Line Director in Los Angeles.

What you’ll do:

  • Help our Audio Team create a world class audio experience
  • Be an important Technical Design contributor within our Audio Team
  • Work within the FrostED game editor to import, name, and organize audio assets
  • Set up visual scripting logic to trigger in game sound events
  • Design sound effects for in game playback
  • Testing and Quality Control of in-game audio assets
  • Take direction from the Senior Technical Audio Artist, and work as a positive and productive member of the Audio Team
  • Help the Audio Team with location sound recording: foley, weapons, ambience, SFX, etc.

 

What we are looking for:

  • BA, Technical School Degree, or equivalent work experience in Audio Engineering, Sound Design or Recording Arts
  • Strong technical proficiency.  Knowledge or experience with visual scripting programs such as Reaktor, Max, Pure Data.
  • Experience in Unreal Engine, Unity, or other game engines
  • In depth knowledge of audio theory and sound design practices; includes knowledge of waveform editing, equalization, compression, mixing, plug ins, etc.
  • Proficiency with audio software \ DAW, such as Reaper, Nuendo, Pro Tools, Sound Forge, Vegas, Cubase, Logic
  • Proficiency with audio plug in software such as Waves, FabFilter, iZotope, SoundToys, etc.
  • Some experience or knowledge of audio game development tools, such as Wwise or FMOD

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). BASE SALARY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
    • $73,200 - $101,700 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
