The role

As Technical Cinematic Designer, you will create cinematic and augmented reality content for EA Sports FC games. You will collaborate with game designers, art directors and producers on the design of compelling, authentic and exciting experiences that showcase the beautiful game of football to fans around the world. You will also partner with programmers and artists to implement exciting in-game sequences using in-house tools and the Frostbite engine.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype and implement various in-game camera sequences within the provided schedule.
  • Create augmented reality and indicator setups using inhouse visual scripting tools
  • Follow direction and reference materials provided by producers, art directors and game designers, and realize the vision through your own cameras and sequences.
  • Learn and use in-house tools and the Frostbite engine to implement cameras and sequences of shots that convey the authenticity of a live football match broadcast.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams (artists, animators, gameplay, audio, interface and rendering engineers) to identify and define requirements for implementation of broadcasting features.
  • Gather references and present ideas back to the team, contributing to the design vision of the project.

Your Qualifications

  • Two years experience in a digital art content creation pipeline, ideally in the video game industry.
  • Knowledge of cinematography techniques: camera composition, timing, framing and cinematic scene blocking.
  • Understand narrative causality and logic.
  • Commitment to deliver quality content while balancing efficiency.
  • Experience with industry software, such as game engines, 3D software and visual scripting tools.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES
* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$75,900 - $105,600 CAD

Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.
 In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
