Who We Are:

The Central Technology Organization is a global team that powers EA Studios to create even greater player experiences. We help shape the future from the way games are created, to how they are played and viewed. The Tools and Technology Team within Central is looking for accomplished people to help us fulfill our mission of providing creative tools and workflows that allow EA games to lead the industry in content quality. Our group strives to build an ecosystem of modular components that are efficient, adjustable to trends, and allow for quick iteration of any artistic idea into reality.

Reporting to the team’s Principal Technical Director, you will be part of the leadership team for the Infinite Content team which is pioneering the use of cloud, parametric and machine learning technologies to empower developers to create compelling games.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide technical decision-making within the team.

  • Improve development best practice (culture, workflows, quality, security, performance and risk mitigation).

  • Promote learning and skill development within the team.

  • Promote collaboration with partner teams within EA.

  • Manage technical staff, including senior staff.

Qualifications:

  • You have delivered a complex software system (a team of 8-12 developers over the course of at least a year) with hundreds of users, in a technical leadership role through all phases of development.

  • You have maintained a long-running software service, requiring activities such as managing technical debt, migration and deprecation.

  • You have delivered containerized or cloud software on any platform. (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Kubernetes…)

  • You have managed partner and client relationships with external teams.

  • Experience with C#, Python.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) * $133,400 - $193,200 CAD

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
