Our Motive is to develop innovative action games set in iconic worlds where every player feels like the hero. Let's say that again—iconic worlds where every player feels like the hero.

Our passion has taken us from imagining dogfighter pilots in Star Wars™: Squadrons to re-creating Isaac Clarke onboard the Ishimura in Dead Space™. Currently, we're working on two exciting projects, an original Iron Man™ action-adventure game and what's coming next for Battlefield™.

We believe in sharing our passion with our community and each other, fostering an inclusive culture, and nurturing a growth mindset. Although our approach may seem simple, it leads us to create the best work of our careers, bringing unique and immersive experiences to our players.

Motive is looking for a Level Designer to create extremely fun, satisfying game levels that align with our creative vision.

Responsabilities:

  • Design and build engaging multiplayer levels within the project’s creative constraints.
  • Assist in taking levels through key stages of development from concept to early polish.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure quality and alignment with the overall vision.
  • Document level design intentions clearly, providing accessible resources for the team to reference.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and address potential risks or dependencies related to level design while maintaining a high standard of quality.
  • Incorporate feedback from playtests and research to improve multiplayer experiences, ensuring fun and balance.
  • Receive and give feedback constructively, offering solutions for improvement on level designs, tools, and processes.

Qualifications:

You have experience in level design (at least 3+ years in a professional setting) and are eager to grow your craft. You also:

  • Have a passion for multiplayer shooter games, with hands-on level design experience or a deep understanding as a player.
  • Have solid skills in layout creation and environment design to craft immersive and functional spaces.
  • Are familiar with visual scripting and level design tools.
  • Have experience with game engines and are comfortable with their technical aspects.
  • Can clearly communicate design ideas to the team and contribute to the collective vision.
  • Collaborate closely with artists, programmers, and designers to implement a shared vision.
  • Enjoy prototyping and iterating on ideas, testing them, and sharing results with key team members.
  • Have a strong interest in the aesthetic aspects of environments and how they enhance gameplay.
  • Can break down tasks and collaborate with production to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, learning and growing within the collaborative process.
