External Development Manager

Battlefield is a storied franchise renowned for uncompromising combat gameplay for over two decades.

This role is for Battlefield Studios (Europe) whose key EA studios are Criterion Games in Guildford and Manchester UK, and DICE Studios based out of Stockholm, Sweden.

The Role: We are looking for an External Development Manager like you to join us in our mission to create amazing games and experiences, and to enhance ourselves and our craft.You will report to our External Development Operations Director (Europe) and work with a core team based out of Europe and have strong engagement with our North American peers.

The External Development Manager at Battlefield Studios (Europe) is a developing role for a franchise-wide External Development team situated across multiple Battlefield Studios.  You will coordinate with multiple internal partners and craft leaders within the organization to guarantee a smooth and successful project development and deployment.The role will be external facing, you will be trusted to work with our global workforce of external development partners who help us deliver the Battlefield Franchise.This particular role is allocated to Criterion Games, a part of Battlefield Studios (Europe). The role will be hybrid (three designated days a week in office) and based out of EA Manchester studio.This role is not open to remote candidates at this time.

What You'll Do:
You are passionate about working with game teams. You will partner with one or more members of our Production team on a daily basis. You will assist External Development Directors, External Craft Directors, and other Leads in tracking development schedules, assessing project risk and formulating response plans, status reporting, and communicating with stakeholders.You will actively engage with our External Partners, and ensure they have effective communication, feedback and support from Battlefield Studios peers. This role is critical to ensuring our partners are not only set for success, but ensuring the External Development team can meet the needs of our project and franchise goals.You will use industry-standard tools to help manage your responsibilities of the project with your internal team members and external partners.

What we are looking for:

  • Passion about working with development teams which may consist of Software Engineers, Animators, Artists, Designers, and others.
  • Experience working as a project or team lead in a creative tech environment.
  • Experience working with External Partners and vendors.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfortable working as part of a distributed, high agency team
  • Background in Production, Computer Science, QA leadership, or equivalent.
  • Experience tracking and communicating project status.
