Descripción y requisitos
Creative Innovation is one of several organizations within EA Studios that provides solutions to deliver games to millions of players around the world. With touchpoints across all titles and platforms, we work collaboratively to provide direct impact to our players worldwide.
The Tools and Technology Team within Creative Innovation is looking for accomplished people to help us fulfil our mission of providing creative tools and workflows that allow EA to lead the industry in content quality. Our group strives to build an ecosystem of modular components that are efficient, adjustable to trends, and allow for quick iteration of any artistic idea into reality. We partner with a global group of extraordinary creatives fueled by imagination and a unified experience, creating amazing content and experiences.
The Challenge Ahead:
As a Senior Technical Artist, Tools/Pipeline, you'll help evolve EA's Shared Asset Library (SAL), a large-scale product ensuring content reuse, automation, and scalability across EA games. You'll work with engineers, artists, and pipeline partners to create tools and workflows that improve asset ingestion, metadata completeness, and cross-studio compatibility.
This role will focus on designing modular, reusable systems and tooling that enable other Technical Artists and teams to build and scale pipelines more effectively. You'll contribute to the development of automation and orchestration frameworks for batch processing, ingestion, and asset curation. While workflow engines like ARGO may be part of the broader ecosystem, the core expectation is to collaborate with engineers to define and implement tooling interfaces, telemetry, and automation strategies that can adapt to evolving technologies and team needs.
Your contributions will directly support high-profile projects like Battlefield, Maxis, and Respawn. They will also expand to teams like FC and Bioware. Furthermore, they will lay the foundation for ML/AI enablement through structured, reusable content pipelines.
You'll report to a team Development Director and collaborate with Technical Art Directors and SAL engineering leads.
Day to day, you will...
Gather user requirements, design, debug, test, and maintain high-quality, reusable code.
Build ETL pipelines using ARGO Workflows to automate asset ingestion, validation, and transformation at scale.
Develop modules with logging, telemetry, and retry mechanisms to support stable pipeline execution.
Collaborate with SAL engineers to ensure seamless workflow between creative and technical systems.
Integrate workflows with DCC tools (e.g., Maya, Blender, Substance) and game engines (e.g., Unreal, Frostbite).
Prepare structured and metadata-rich assets to support AI/ML training and content reuse.
Automate pipeline steps and deliver self-serve tooling for internal partners and content creators.
You are/have…
Proficiency in Python and 3+ years of experience in pipeline/tool development.
Hands-on experience with DCC applications such as Maya, Houdini, Blender, Photoshop, and Substance Designer.
3+ years of experience using ARGO or similar workflow orchestration tools in content pipelines.
Understanding of modern asset formats like USD and GLB, including cloud-based workflows.
Familiarity with batch processing frameworks, containerized tasks, and asset validation systems.
Solid software engineering practices (e.g., modularity, testing, and object-oriented design).
Bonus if you have…
Experience collaborating with rigging and lighting artists, and software engineers, in the games or film industry.
Knowledge of telemetry dashboards, retry strategies, and distributed content workflows.
Experience with AI/ML-driven pipelines or interest in automation and tooling.
Experience in C#, C++, and working knowledge of .NET
Experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
