EA Digital Platform (EADP) Customer Platform Enablement - Software Engineer Intern

EA’s Digital Platform (EADP) organization drives important technology decisions and investments for EA on a global basis, across all divisions and studio teams. Technology and engineering leadership at EA is essential to making the industry’s best games and services and the EADP team is leading the way to providing the cross-platform infrastructure to keep our consumers connected with our games anytime, anywhere, with anyone.

We build and maintain content pipeline and delivery services that support live games and various other company-wide services across EA. We’re looking for a motivated Software Engineer to help design, implement, and support these services. You'll work as part of an experienced team, engaged with various EADP service teams and game teams around the globe to provide outstanding innovation and performance to our customers.

Your Work with Us

As a software engineer intern, your primary goal is to learn and gain experience in ensuring the reliability and stability of complex infrastructures. You will work alongside experienced software engineers and technical directors to design and implement solutions that meet the highest standards of quality and performance. Your daily tasks will involve improving existing player-facing services and internal tools alike.

You’ll join the Integrated Content team at the center of our User-Generated Experiences (UGX) technology for moderating, enriching and distributing player driven content.  You’ll engage with different EADP service teams and game teams around the globe to provide outstanding innovation and performance for our upcoming top games.

As a software engineer, you are curious and enjoy engaging with team members to learn about their work and how it fits into the larger picture. You are eager to learn and improve your skills to stay on top of emerging technologies and industry trends. Your prior educational and work experience will guide you to use your learnings in meaningful ways to optimize systems and processes.

Responsibilities

  • You will enhance and add features to existing systems

  • You will research and select new technologies to meet challenging requirements 

  • You will work with product managers to improve new features to support EA’s business

  • You will help optimize and scale services to support growing usage across new games.

  • You will develop automation scripts to streamline deployment and maintenance tasks.

  • You will collaborate with peers and partners across many locations to identify and support a shared set of goals and applications.

  • You will communicate with engineers from across the company to deliver the next generation of online features for both established and not-yet-released games

Skills / Experience

  • Currently pursuing Computer Science or related Software Engineering career

  • Experience developing software in Java, Scala, or TypeScript

  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line tools

  • Experience and/or understanding of online services (via REST or gRPC)

  • Experience and/or understand working with cloud technology (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and configurations

  • Experience and/or understanding of NoSQL and relational databases

  • Great communication skills: Demonstrated ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and internalize technical concepts and explanations from your teammates

  • Able to take direction, plan, iterate and then execute against it

  • Familiarity with container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Interest in security and infrastructure as code technologies (e.g., Terraform, Helm)


Must be available for a full-time paid internship in the summer of 2025. We are only considering students who will be enrolled in an accredited degree program in the summer of 2025, slated to graduate no earlier than December 2025. You must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis during the 16-week internship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
