The Advanced Automation Engineer will work on a game team and with Quality Engineering and other Game teams to create tools and technical strategies to improve automation. You will develop an in-depth understanding of product designs, use EA proprietary tools to create unique automated tests, form test strategies for implementation of technologies, and will think laterally to identify requirements, roadblocks, or efficiencies that your partners may not consider.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop automation frameworks, tools, engine components and processes for a multiplayer sports game.
  • Use modern software engineering processes and best practices for requirements, design, implementation, and testing.
  • You will work with all disciplines to gather requirements, collaborate on solutions, and implement.
  • Measurably improve process and best practices to achieve targets across a small team of engineers.
  • Create clear documentation to support workflow processes.
  • Design, author, test, and deploy automated tests to cover all test scenarios.
  • Interpret requests from your QA and engineering partners, account for and call out any roadblocks or efficiencies your partners may not consider and propose and apply your creative or technical solutions.
  • Investigate and adopt new game technologies, practices, tools, and systems

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent training and professional experience.
  • 6+ years experience in software development with a strong C++ focus.
  • Experience shipping a game
  • Experience with AI and machine learning.
  • Experience with Unreal, Unity or other advanced proprietary game engines.
  • Experience developing in and debugging multi-threaded/concurrent architectures.
  • Experience working with Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo game consoles.
  • Experience with large scale game services
  • Experience with Visual Studio and knowledge of the debugging tools.

Bonus:

  • Experience with mobile development (iOS and Android).
  • Experience shipping at least one AAA title with a significant automation contribution

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). BASE SALARY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
    • $115,100 - $161,200 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
